Utza'm Achij is one of the twenty positions created after the separation of the towns in Chulimal. Anthropologist Allen J. Christenson (2007: 284) translates the name as "Their Point Warriors," whereas Dennis Tedlock (1996: 190) interprets the name as "Military Corners."
