El lingüista k'iche' Sam Colop (2008: 252n355) traduce el título del importante oficio como "maestro de las ceremonias de los Nija'ib." En la versión impresa en el k'iche' contemporáneo, Colop (1999: 169) escribe el nombre del linaje como "Nija'ib'ab'", no obstante aquí observamos la ortografía recomendada por los investigadores mayas del equipo Multepal (García Ixmatá et al.).
Anthropologist Allen J. Christenson (2007: 271n754) translates the title of Nim Ch'okoj Nija'ib' as "Great Steward Nijaibs." In the body of the text, he translates the name as "Great Steward of the Nihaibs."
