Ajb'is

Ajb'is es la tercera entidad mencionada en la lista de los no poderes de los Rajawal Xib'alb'a después de su derrota por los dos muchachos, Junajpu y Xb'alamq'e. El lingüista k'iche' Sam Colop (2008: 123) traduce su nombre como "los que se entristecen." El prefijo aj quiere decir "maestro" y b'is es "tristeza." Se sigue Ajmak y Ajlab'al y es seguido por Ajmoken.

Ajb'is, what anthropologist Allen J. Christenson (2007) translates as "Wretch," is one of the attributes given to the Lords of Xib'alb'a after their defeat by Junajpu and Xb'alamq'e. The name is formed by the roots aj (master of) and b'is (sadness). He follows Ajmak and Ajlab'al and is followed by Ajmoken.
