Ajlatzab'

Ajlatzab' son las últimas deidades/no deidades (así llamadas porque solo hacen daño a la gente) en la lista de las fuerzas malas de Xib'alb'a. Su par es Ajmox Wach. El lingüista k'iche' Sam Colop (2008: 124n187) explica, "El texto k'iche' dice ajlatz'ab donde aj- es agentivo, latz' 'estrecho' y el sufijo -ab marca el plural que termina significando: 'opresores.'"

Ajlatz'ab are the final deities-not-deities (so named because they only do harm) in the list of evil forces of Xib'alb'a. Their pair is Ajmox Wach. K'iche' linguist Sam Colop (2008: 124n187) explains the etymological roots of his name as such: "aj is the agentive, latz' means 'tight' and the suffix -ab is a plural marker, such that the name can be translated as 'oppressors.'"
